Hanover picked up a 35-23 win over Manchester on MC’s homecoming weekend to pick up its fourth straight conference win.
Hanover got on the board early in the first quarter, but quarterback Justin Minnich tied the game after a 43-yard touchdown run, and a Kyle Evans 19-yard field goal gave MC a 10-7 lead after one period. Hanover responded midway through the second quarter for a touchdown, and MC closed out the half with a nine yard touchdown grab by Bobby McClintock to give MC a 17-14 advantage.
Hanover picked up two scores in the third period to take a 28-17 lead, but Minnich scored on a one-yard run to make it 28-25 with 6:38 left in the game. Hanover capitalized on a late interception and scored for the 35-25 final.
Minnich ended the day with 108 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 17 carries and threw for 243 yards on 23-41 passing with four interceptions. McClintock ended the game with five catches for 62 yards.
Dylan Snyder and Brecken Kennedy had 14 tackles apiece for the Spartan defense. Kennedy had three interceptions in the game and three pass breakups. Ryan McKee added seven tackles with a pair of sacks.
Manchester falls to 2-5 on the year, 1-4 in conference action. They travel to Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday, Oct. 30.
