The Manchester volleyball team played host to Adams Central Tuesday, grabbing game one before falling 25-18, 23-25, 21-25, 23-25.
The Lady Squires came out inspired early in game one, grabbing a 10-5 lead off kills from Anna Osborne and Sydney Day. Kara Kline and Osborne also had blocks during the run. The Squires would continue to control the game and led 16-13 when they put some distance between the teams. Kiera Hatfield and Eva Bazzoni would get blocks to extend the lead to 20-13 before winning 25-18.
Manchester would continue to go to Day and Osborne early in game two and led 16-14 when Adams Central made a move. The guest would score the next four points to grab a 19-16 lead and led 22-19 when the Squires made another push, forcing three errors and tying the score at 22. Tied at 23 Adams Central would get a tip and a kill to take game two 23-25.
As the previous two games the Squires got a good start. Kendra Auler would serve an ace as Manchester led 3-1. Down 6-7 the Squires would score four straight to lead 10-7 before Adams Central scored 9 of the nest 11 points to lead 18-13. Down 14-20 and things not looking good the Lady Squires would get two kills from Day that ignited a 6-0 run to tie the score 20-20. Adams Central would score 5 of the next 6 points to grab a 21-25 win and led 2-1.
Manchester would grab a 9-3 lead early in game four and built the lead to 12-5 off kills from day and Hatfield before the visitors started to edge their way back. Adams Central cut the Manchester lead to 16-15 when Day recorded three kills and the Squires got an ace from Osborne to lead 23-17 when the wheels fell off. Adams Central would score the next 8 points to take game four 23-25 and the match 3-1.
