Spartans post balanced effort

DEFIANCE, OHIO – Four individual scores in the 80s guided Manchester University to a 340 team total at Defiance College’s Invitational Sunday, Sept. 24.

Junior Connor Labedz (Aurora, Ill.) was a model of that consistency, going 41-41 on the front and back nines at Eagle Rock Golf Club for an 82. Freshman Connor Heeg (Fowlerville, Mich.) continued to be impressive early in his collegiate career firing an 83 which was highlighted by a two-over-par 38 on the back. Fellow first-years Dillon McFaddin (Bedford, Ind.) and Cody Loucks (Goshen, Ind.) added 87 and 88, respectively, to the final numbers.

The Spartans continue their fall season Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, at Earlham College’s Invitational. Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, Ind., is the host course.
