FRANKLIN, IND. – Manchester University’s offense proved efficient in regards to shot on goal totals and goals Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The Spartans clouted two successful strikes on three attempts against Franklin College goalkeepers Jackie List and Lexi Short, netting one score against each. Senior midfielder Kelsey Ropp (Freeland, Mich.) notched her second goal of the season, cutting FC’s lead to 2-1, while fellow Class of 2018 midfielder Courtney Hersick (Plymouth, Ind.) got through the home side defense in the 82nd minute for her first scoring strike.
Franklin College’s offense had similar success, winding up with five goals on ten total in-frame attempts in route to a 5-2 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference decision at Faught Field. Sophomore forward Taylor McDaniel had a pair of goals in the first 45 minutes, including a key one in the 33rd minute that helped reopen their advantage to two (3-1) going into halftime.
MU (0-12 overall, 0-4 HCAC) returns home to Good Field Saturday, Oct. 14. They face off against Transylvania University at 1 p.m.
