Manchester University senior men’s soccer player Brady Forman (Hastings, Mich.) was named the United Soccer Coaches’ Division III Player of the Week Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Forman, who gained his third Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference defensive award of the year Monday, Oct. 30, continued a remarkable run of play last week as part of a Spartans’ back line that has been nearly perfect in its current six-match win streak. He produced back-to-back clean sheets of 90 minutes that led Manchester University to a 5-0 win at Bluffton Oct. 25 and 1-0 decision over Earlham Oct. 28 with those victories guiding MU to its first double-digit triumph campaign since 2007 and its first conference tournament bid since 2010. The senior netminder has surrendered only one goal in better than 550 minutes during the win skein.
Forman and the Spartans, the fourth seed in the HCAC postseason tournament, take on top-seeded and regular season champion Transylvania University Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in one of two semifinals.
