Lady Apaches Win Season Opener At Blackford

The Wabash Lady Apaches basketball team opened their season on the road Saturday, traveling to Blackford for an afternoon game and defeating the Bruins 54-17.

Wabash got off to a slow start and led just 8-4 after the first stop before out scoring Blackford 11-7 in the second to lead 19-11 at the half.

Things started to click for the Apaches in the second half on both ends of the court as they won the third quarter 20-2 and the fourth 15-4 for the 54-17 final.

Bailey Yoakum led the way with 17 points. Carmen Higdon chipped in 13.
