The Northfield Lady Norse took the short trip to Huntington Saturday and led at the half before the Vikings came back to defeat Northfield 50-44.
The Lady Norse would control the first half. Down 2-0 after a Madalyn Robrock bucket Ally Keaffaber would tie the score. Kelcie Thomson gave Northfield a 5-4 lead with a three before Rileigh Johnson and Karmen Koch it to put Huntington up 9-5. Back came the Norse, getting a bucket from Maddie Clark and a three from Abbey Ross to lead 10-9 before Larissa Johnson put the Vikings back up 11-10 Thomson would get the final bucket of the quarter at the buzzer to give Northfield a 12-10 lead after one.
Clark would hit again for the Norse to start the second quarter with Melanie Berry sandwiching a bucket between two Rileigh Johnson buckets. Beery would hit once more as the Norse led 18-15. Reece Colclesser would then drain a three to tie the score at 18-18 before Clark and Ariel Dale hit back to back buckets to put Northfield up 22-18. The Vikings would answer with buckets from Robrock and Rileigh Johnson to make it 22-22 before a Ross three made it 25-22 Northfield. Tied at 25 Ross would go downtown again before Colclesser ended the half with a bucket and Northfield leading 28-27.
Kelcie Thomson got the first bucket of the third quarter before Robrock and Rylee Williams gave Huntington a 31-30 lead. Back came the Norse with Dale and Thomson connecting to put Northfield up 34-31. With the Norse leading 35-33 Robrock and Rileigh Johnson hit back to back as the Vikings led 38-35 after three.
Huntington would build on their lead to start the fourth quarter, going to Robrock and Johnson for a 42-35 lead. Melanie Beery would then hit back to back buckets for the Norse to cut the Vikings lead to 42-39 before Hollyn Anderson made it 44-39. Kelcie Thomson would then convert an old fashion three to make it 44-42 when Larissa Johnson and Anderson hit free throws for a 48-42 lead. Thomson would hit one more time to make it 48-44 with Robrock ending the scoring with two free throws to give Huntington the 50-44 win.

The Northfield junior varsity defeated Huntington 33-26.
Fayth Leming led with 10 points, followed by Kearston Stout with 8 points, and Emma Hoover with 7.
