DELAWARE, OHIO – A pair of victories Saturday, Nov. 18, helped Manchester University junior diver Anjel Clemente (Rensselaer, Ind.) continue an impressive 2017-18 schedule.
Coach Mike Kroll’s diving standout swept the one-meter and three-meter board events at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Corbiere-Merion Invitational to move his season record to 4-2. He tallied 204.04 points in the one-meter and 192.95 in the three-meter. His three-meter point total set a new program record.
In the pool, four relays took eighth to aid in the Black and Gold’s 217.5-point sixth-place finish. Juniors Guerby Ruuska (Rensselaer, Ind.) and Nathan Koch (Columbia City, Ind.) joined freshman Jacob Ramer (Crawfordsville, Ind.) and sophomore Christain Poole(Anderson, Ind.) to hit the pad in 1:34.26 in the 200-yard freestyle and 3:37.73 in the 400-yard freestyle, while Ruuska and Poole came back with freshmen Kyle Erwin (Attica, Ind.) and Victor Banks (Fort Wayne, Ind.) to clock a 3:55.03 in the 400-yard medley; and Ruuska, Poole, and Erwin teamed up with freshman Victor Banks (Fort Wayne, Ind.) for a time of 1:48.75 in the 200-yard medley. Ruuska took an old record from his home Strauss-Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center board along with Clemente, as his 26.49 50-yard backstroke split in the 200-yard medley was a new standard.
Manchester University closes its fall schedule Saturday, Dec. 2, joining the field at Illinois Tech’s Ted Erikson Invitational.
