Lady Knights Fall At Eastbrook

The Southwood Lady Knights lost another tough battle Wednesday night to the Eastbrook Panthers 50-41

One of the keys to the game was the slow start the Knights got off to falling behind 9-1 within the first 3 minutes and trailing 13-3 with 2:30 minutes remaining in the period. A strong close to the quarter after buckets from Sydney Helfin and MaKenna Pace drew the Knights to within 5.

The remainder of the game would be a see-saw of mini-runs back and forth between the two sides. Eastbrook would build the lead to 6-10 points and the Knights would close the gap back to 3-5. A strong surge with about 2 minutes remaining brought the Knights to within 2 points after a MaKenna Pace 3-pointer. Unfortunately, that was all that was left in the tank after a tough, scrappy, physical and fast-paced game. The Panthers would capitalize on late turnovers and make enough free throws to pull away in the last minute.
