Manchester Wrestling Fourth At John McKee Invite

The Manchester Squires Wrestling team finished in 4th place out of 16 teams at the John Mckee Invite in Rochester Friday. Manchester received it’s highest placement ever in the tournament by finishing with 165 points to edge 2-time defending champion Lafayette Jeff (164.5) for 4th place.

The Squires received a great effort across the lineup with 11 place winners, which included 7 wrestlers scoring double digit team points. Junior Delton Moore won his first John Mckee individual title by picking up 2 falls, and two 3 point decisions to move his season record to 18-2. Freshman Elijah Burlingame finished 3rd in his weight class and second on the team with 19 team points, and Senior Wade France picked up two pins and a major decision to finish in 3rd place. Senior Trey McNall and Sophomore Ashton Moore both had huge days for the team by going 4-1 and battling back to finish in 5th place, while underclassmen Tyce Rooney and Peyton Addair both finished with wins for 7th place. The Squires Varsity team will return to action in the East Noble Invite on Jan. 6, while the JV Squad will travel to Penn for a tournament on Dec. 27th at 9am.
