The Wabash Lady Apache tennis team was edged 2-3 by Peru in the sectional championship Saturday.

Lady Apaches To Meet Peru In Sectional Final
The Wabash Lady Apache tennis team will meet Peru in the sectional final Friday. Wabash made it to the final by out lasting Northfield 3-2. Peru topped Manchester 5-0.

Although Northfield lost as a team, #1 singles player Bayli Birk and the #1 doubles team of Alyssa Richter & Leanne Beck will move on in the individual tournament by winning at #1. The site and time has yet to be determined.
Lady Apaches Open Tennis Sectional With A Sweep
The Wabash Lady Apache tennis team opened sectional play Wednesday with a 5-0 sweep of Maconaquah. Not only did they complete the sweep, all matches were decided in two sets.

Southwood Tennis Tops Valley
The Southwood varsity tennis team topped Tippecanoe Valley 4 – 1Tuesday. Posting singles wins were Sarah Peters, Emma Flynn and Alyson Gouveia. Sofia Draper and Jordan Vielee had a doubles win.
The junior varsity fell to Tippecanoe Valley 4 – 3. JV winners were Josie Marchetti, Anna Rees and Caitlynn Charles and Natalie Knoblock and Kayleigh Shearer.
Wabash Tennis Sweeps Maconaquah
The Wabash tennis team made quick work of Maconaquah Monday, sweeping the Braves 5-0.

Lady Norse Tennis Blanks Valley
The Northfield Lady Norse tennis team blanked Tippecanoe Valley 5-0 in the last regular match of the season Monday. The singles players Bayli Birk, Elaina Terrell, and Jensen Zumbaugh only gave up 6 total games. #1 doubles Team of Alyssa Richter and Leanne Beck won 6-0, 6-1 and improved Their record to 14-2 and the #2 doubles team of Natalie Schuler and Ciara Ritchie won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
Heading in as a sectional front runner, the #1 doubles team of Alyssa Richter & Leanne Beck are now 14-2 on the season heading into sectional play. Their record from the last two seasons now stands at 30-5 and if you count 3 seasons ago (Alyssa-sophomore and Leanne—freshman—playing at #1 doubles) their combined record is 40-10.

Wabash Tennis Camp
Wabash High School will host a tennis camp in June for Wabash City School students. The camp will run Monday through Friday, June 10-14. Session one, open to those entering grades 5&6, will be 8:00-8:50am each day. Session two, open to those entering grades 7-9, will be 9:00-9:50am each day. Cost of the camp is $15. Sign-up/information forms are available in the school offices. All participants registered by May 23rd will receive a camp T-shirt. Instructors are WHS tennis coaches Dan Ford, Katie Cromer and Jr. Carrillo.
