The Metro Rage Girl’s team opened the season with a 3-2 win against Starke County girl’s travel team on Saturday. The Lady Rage had a total of 25 shots on goal for the game, but only found the back of the net three times. Cassiday Sausaman (Jr. NHS) opened the scoring in the first half on an assist from Kaitlyn DeVries (Sr. NHS), but Starke County tied the score before the half ended.
Shiloh Wilson (Sr SHS) scored early in the second half and Kaitlyn DeVries added a goal of her own on an assist from Michal Rensberger (Fr homeschool). Starke County scored again near the end of the game, but the lady Rage hung on for the win. Goalkeeper Hannah Fadil (Jr SHS)had 5 saves in the game and deflected what would have been the tying goal in the last 5 minutes of play.
The Lady Rage play Grant County United on Wednesday, August 25th at 5:30pm while the boys team plays Grant County United on Thursday, August 26th at 5;30pm. Both teams will play Woodlan High School on Saturday at 10am (girls) and noon (boys). All of the games will be played at the Morrett Sports Complex this next week.
