The Wabash Apache boys basketball team fell to 3A #2 Peru Friday night 68-37. You could tell what kind of night it was going to be for Peru when leading just 5-3 after a Wabash Nate Price three an ally oop was thrown by the Tigers from well beyond the three point arch and the pass was nothing but net to give Peru an 8-3 lead which lead to a 16-0 run and a 21-3 first quarter lead.
Price would start the scoring in the second quarter with another three and later Jack Holley would hit to make it 25-9 before Peru would go on another run, this time an 11-0 run to make it 36-9. Shea Beauchamp would connect on a three with 2:15 to go to stop the run, followed by a Breyton Nealis bucket and it was 39-14 at the half.
The third quarter was a low scoring affair with Peru out scoring Wabash 9-5 to make it 48-19 after three. Beauchamp and Alex Hentgen had buckets for Wabash.
Wabash lacked two points of playing even with the Tigers in the fourth quarter, with Peru winning the quarter 20-18 for the 68-37 final. Wabash connected on three, three pointers in the quarter, two by Price and one by Beauchamp. Hentgen would also have 5 points in the quarter.
Nate Price lead Wabash with 14 points, hitting 4 three pointers. Alex Hentgen had 9 points, Shea Beauchamp 8 points, Jack Holley 4 points and Breyton Nealis 2 points.
