The Wabash Lady Apaches flexed their muscle in the TRC Saturday night as they defeated a very good Rochester team on the road 56-38. Rochester was 3-1 with their only loss coming to Warsaw.
The game was tight in the first quarter, but Wabash managed to build an 18-12 lead.
The Lady Apaches stifling defense took control in the second quarter, holding Rochester to 7 points while Wabash scored 17 to take a 35-19 lead.
The third quarter was a more even quarter in scoring as Wabash built upon their lead, out scoring Rochester just 11-7 to lead 46-26.
Rochester actually out scored Wabash in the fourth quarter 12-10, but the Lady Apaches still held on for an 18 point victory 56-38.
Kaleigh Hensley lead Wabash with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assist and 9 steals. Kelsey Cromer had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal. Gabi Nearing and Kyleigh Hampton had 6 points each. Nearing had 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Hampton had 2 rebounds and 4 blocks. Lindsie Thomas had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Marin Hill had 1 point, 2 rebounds, 3 assist and 2 steals.
