The Manchester boys basketball team fell to Churubusco Tuesday night 51-45. The Squires held their own until the fourth quarter, when trailing by just one got out scored 12-7 in the final stanza.
The first half was the tale of two quarters. Both teams were scoring as though it was going to be an offensive show all night with Churubusco leading 17-15 after one. The second quarter was quite the opposite with each team scoring just 6 points each for a 23-21 game at the half.
The third quarter would revert back to the scoring quarter, with Manchester out scoring Churubusco 17-16. Busco would hold on to a one point lead going in to the final stanza, 39-38.
Again in the even quarter the Manchester offense could not find the bucket, being out scored 12-7 for the 51-45 final.
Austin Flack lead the Squires with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assist and 4 steals. Scott Baker had 11 points and 9 rebounds. Derek Self had 8 points, Aric Howard had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Caleb Thomas had 4 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assist.
