The Wabash Lady Apaches were out to win their fifth straight county title and Manchester was out to start a run of their own. If the first quarter was an indication of things to come it was going to the wire to decide the champion. Wabash is known for its big runs during a game and that continued to propel them to their fifth championship 70-42.
Kelsey Cromer started things off with a Wabash bucket, quickly answered by Hannah Little. Cromer hit a free throw that was answered again by Little giving Manchester a 4-3 lead. Kaleigh Hensley and Kyleigh Hampton connected to give Wabash a 7-4 lead before a Kayla Flack bucket. Kaylee Watson hit for Manchester to tie the score at 8. Marin Hill hit for Wabash followed by two Cromer free throws and one by Lindsie Thomas to put Wabash up 13-8. Flack drained two free throws for Manchester to end the quarter at 13-10.
The second quarter is when things would change. Cromer hit a three to start a 21-0 run for Wabash and the Lady Apaches out scored Manchester 25-4 in the quarter. Cromer and Hensley would catch fire with Cromer scoring 10 points with two three pointers and Hensley scoring 13 points with a three. Brittany Stone gave some quality minutes for Wabash connecting on a jumper. Hannah Little scored all four Manchester points.
Manchester would regroup at half time and would not give in, which is a trade mark of all Mark Underwood teams. Wabash was still shooting good behind Cromer as the Apaches out scored the Lady Squires 19-12. Cromer would hit her third three pointer of the game and score 9 points in the quarter. Hensley had 6. Kayla Flack went to work for Manchester, scoring 8 points in the quarter. Autumn Brewer added 4. Wabash lead 57-26 after three quarters.
Manchester would out score Wabash in the fourth quarter 16-13. Four different players would score for the Lady Squires, lead by Kaylee watson with 7 points including a three pointer. Meika Kennedy also hit a three. Wabash would have five players score in the quarter. Hill and Hensley had 4 points each. Cromer stayed hot from behind the arch, draining her fourth three pointer of the game.
Wabash was lead in scoring by Kelsey Cromer with 27 points. Kaleigh Hensley had 26, Marin Hill 6, Gabi Nearing and Kyleigh Hampton 4, Brittany Stone and Katelyn Vogel 2 and Lindsie Thomas 1.
Manchester was lead by Kayla Flack with 16 points. Kaylee Watson had 9, Hannah Little 8, Autumn Brewer 4, Meika Kennedy 3 and Kalene Freshour 2.
