It was the usual heavy pressure with a lot of depth that wears out their opponent in the second half. Saturday it was the first quarter when it happened. Manchester had seven players get in the scoring column in the first quarter while holding their opponent to no field goals and take a commanding 17-4 lead. Kaylee Watson, Lindsey Budnik and Kayla Flack each had 3 points to lead Manchester.
The second quarter wa more even in scoring, as North Miami out scored Manchester 11-10. Flack had 6 points in the quarter to lead Manchester to a 28-14 half time lead.
Manchester would out score North Miami 24-16 in the second half winning both quarters. The Lady Squires had nine players score in the game.
Manchester was lead by Kayla Flack with 18 points,15 rebounds, 2 assist and 2 blocks. Kaylee Watson and Hannah Little each had 8 points. Little added 10 rebounds. Lindsey Budnik had 7 points. Meika Kennedy had 3 points and 6 rebounds. Katie Underwood, Erika Milam and Autumn Brewer each had 2 points. Brewer added 6 rebounds. Bekah Brunn had 1 point.
Coach Underwood ” Good win for the girls tonight. I thought we passed the ball really well on the offensive end of the floor. Defensively we need to cut down on the fouls.”
The JV lost to North Miami 29-24. Bekah Brunn lead Manchester with 8 points. Sydney Snep added 6.
