Lady Squires Rally To Defeat Peru

The Manchester Lady Squire basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Peru 47-41 Thursday night.

The two teams played to an 18 all tie in the first half. Kayla Flack scored 10 of Manchester’s 18 points in the first half with four other players scoring 2 points each.

Peru came out of the half and looked as though the home court was going to pay off, out scoring Manchester 18-6 in the third quarter to take a 36-24 lead going in to the final quarter.

Manchester got hot in the fourth quarter behind Flack and Erika Milam, out scoring Peru 23-5 to steal a road victory. Flack scored 9 points in the quarter. Milam had 8.

Manchester was lead by Kayla Flack with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals. Erika Milam had 10 points and 5 steals. Kaylee Watson had 6 points. Hannah Little and Kalene Freshour had 5 points each. Little had 8 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals. Freshour had 1 assist and 1 steal. Meika Kennedy and Lyndsie Budnik had 2 points each. Kennedy had 3 steals. Budnik had 1 assist and 1 steal.

Coach Underwood ” Great comeback win tonight. We snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Senior Erika Milam really came up big for us tonight.”

The JV was defated 26-15.

Kacy Sites lead Manchester with 6 points. Sydney Snep added 4 points.
