Manchester’s women’s basketball team fell to host Transylvania on Saturday 77-60. The Spartans went into the half trailing 32-20, and were limited to just 25 percent field goal shooting in the first half and just 1-10 three-point shooting. Transy outscored MC 45-40 in the second half, hitting 20-24 free throw attempts to MC’s 16-21 free throw shooting.
Laine Mello led the Spartans with 13 points, hitting 7-7 free throws. She added six rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Kelsey DeMott and Melissa Eltzroth scored 10 points each, while Brittani Bush added eight points and three rebounds.
Manchester falls to 7-8 overall, 5-3 in the HCAC. They will return to action Wednesday, as they host Anderson starting at 7:30 p.m.
