The Northfield Norse wrestlers brought home the Rochester Super 8 team trophy Saturday, for the second year in a row. Northfield started out the day by defeating Southwood 43-25, Tippe Valley 49-24 and Rochester 52-29 to win pool A. In the championship pool the Norse defeated West Central 42-27 and Caston 59-22 to earn the team team plaque. Individual champions in their weight classes were Hunter Wells at 145 lbs and Scott Ammons at 215 lbs. Northfield’s varsity record is now 16-1.

Southwood finished in a three-way tie for second place, defeating Rochester, Tippecanoe Valley and Caston but falling to Northfield and West Central. On the day, Trevor Rebholz and Josh Brainard were both 5 and 0. SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS to Rebholz who recorded his 100th career grappling win ! Going 4 and 1 on the day were Johnathon Friedersdorf and Jake Smith; Colton Dawes was 3 and 1 on the day; Nick Striker, Logan Schneider and Coltyn Spicer were all 3 and 2 on the day; Kyle Dickey and Casey Baxter were 2 and 3; Brandon Simpson and Hunter Law were 1 and 4 respectively; John Yarnelle was 1 and2 on the day; Mitch Mercer was 0 and 1 and Nick McCown was 0 and 5.
