The Lady Apaches took off fast behind Kelsey Cromer and Kaleigh Hensley to build a 22-5 lead after the first quarter. Cromer had 11 points and Hensley 10 in the quarter. Manchester’s Meika Kennedy and Cromer each had a three pointer.
Wabash continued the pressure in the second quarter, this time it was Hensley and Kyleigh Hampton. Hampton canned a three and had 10 points in the quarter, Hensley added 9. Manchester’s Kennedy stayed hot, drilling two three pointers of her own. The Lady Apaches out scored Manchester 21-11 in the quarter to take a 43-16 half time lead.
Manchester regrouped at half time and came out a little more inspired. Kayla Flack scored 9 points for the Lady Squires in the quarter, while Hensley had 7 for Wabash. Cromer hit her second three of the game while Kennedy hit her fourth three. Wabash out scored Manchester by just one point, 15-14 to take 58-30 lead after three.
Manchester hit the first bucket of the fourth quarter and then Wabash found a run. The lady Apaches scored the next 12 points to stretch the lead to 70-32. During the run Cromer hit her third three pointer of the game and Hampton hit her second three. Erika Milam lead Manchester scoring all four of her points in the fourth quarter.
Manchester coach Mark Underwood : ” We played a very good team tonight. We have played them 8 quarters this year now and for 4 of the quarters we played right with them. We need to work on the other four quarters.”
Leading Wabash was Kaleigh Hensley with 30 points. Kelsey Cromer had 21, Kyleigh Hampton 15, Gabi Nearing 6, Lyndsie Thomas 4 and Hannah Mullett 1.
Leading Manchester was Kayla Flack with 15 points. Meika Kennedy had 12, Kalene Freshour and Erika Milam 4, Malyssa Bedke, Kaylee Watson and Autumn Brewer 2.
