The Southwood 8th grade boys basketball team captured the Logansport Invitational Tournament Championship Saturday by defeating Northwestern, 47-25 and Logansport Lincoln, 39 – 37. In the Northwestern contest, Danny Goff and Robbie Cole shared top scoring honors with 21 points each; Nathan Hollars had 3 points and Braden Hobbs added 2 points. In the title tilt against Lincoln, Cole had 11 points; Hobbs had 7; Goff had 6 along with 11 rebounds; Hollars had 6; Noah Kirk had 5 points and Jacob Lloyd added4 points for the 9 and 3 eighth graders.
The 7th gradefell to Northwestern, 41 – 37 in overtime of the opening round of the Logansport Invitational. Brandin Frazier had 13 points; Christian Deeter had 8 points and Andrew Finicle added 5 points. In the consolation game the 7th graders fell to Logansport Columbia, 45 – 32. Frazier had 10 points, Deeter had 7; Finicle had 6 and Clay Hinrichsen added 4 for the 4 and 8 7th graders.
