The Wabash Lady Apache basketball team used a strong second half Wednesday night to defeat Lewis Cass 52-25. Wabash, playing uncharacteristic in the first half scored 42 points in the second half to pull out the win and move their record to 15-1.
In the first half the Lady Apaches could get absolutely nothing going as they lead just 10-8 after the first quarter and with some key players on the bench in the second quarter went scoreless and trailed 14-10 at the half.
Things changed coming out of the locker room as the Wabash offense and defense began to click, out scoring Cass 23-7 in the third quarter and 19-4 in the fourth.
Wabash shot just 34% from two point land and 41% from three. Wabash committed 12 turn overs.
Leading Wabash was Kaleigh Hensley with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist and 9 steals. Kelsey Cromer had 13 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assist. Marin Hill had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Kyleigh Hampton had 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Lyndsie Thomas had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals. Gabi Nearing had 6 rebounds, assist and 2 steals. Hannah Mullett had 1 rebound.
The JV was defated 21-16 by Cass.
Katelin Vogel lead Wabash with 7 points. Jaclyn Lewis had 4, Audra Watkins 3 and Paige Worrick 2.
