The Manchester Lady Squire basketball team made sure their seniors played their last home game on a winning note, defeating Triton 46-39 Tuesday night.
The Lady Squires out scored Triton 10-8 in the first quarter. Meika Kennedy lead Manchester with 4 points in the quarter. Three other Squire players scored 2 points each in the quarter.
Manchester stretched the lead in the second quarter, winning it 15-9 and taking a 25-17 lead in to the locker room. Nine of Manchester’s fifteen points came on three pointers, 1 from Kennedy and 2 from Kaylee Watson. Watson had 8 points in the quarter.
Manchester would build the lead to 36-27 after three quarters, out scoring Triton 11-9 in the third. Kennedy was the leading scorer in the quarter with 5 points, connecting on her second three pointer of the game.
Triton would out score the Lady Squires in the fourth quarter 13-10. Autumn Brewer lead the attack in the fourth quarter with 4 points. The Lady Squires hit just 2 of 6 free throws in the quarter, but it was enough to preserve the win.
Leading Manchester was Meika Kennedy with a career high 13 points, 8 rebound, 2 assit, 5 steals and 1 block. Hannah Little had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. Kaylee Watson had 8 points and 1 rebound. Kayla Flack had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Kalene Freshour had 4 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assist and 5 steals. Autumn Brewer had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Katie Underwood had 3 points. Erika Milam had 1 point, 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
