The 8th Grade Lady Knights battling the flu bug and the schedule (playing their 3rd game in 3 nights) fell at Northwestern 27-28. The Lady Knights trailed 8-10 after 1 quarter and then didn’t make a field goal in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters (getting only 2 free throws in the middle 2 periods). The Knights trailed 10-22 starting the 4th quarter. Northwestern scored the first basket of the 4th to run their lead to 24-10, which was the biggest lead of the night. The Knights finally started scoring in the 4th period which allowed them to get back in the game with their press and rallied all the way to 24-28 with a minute left. They closed to 27-28 with 4.5 seconds left on a 3-pointer from Emily Lehner, but were unable to steal the ball on the inbounds pass. The 8-1 Lady Knights play Wabash on Saturday, January 29 at the Maconaquah Invitational.

The 7th grade fell at Northwestern, 27 – 11. Delayne Gentry had 5 points and 12 rebounds and Kelly Schmidt also had 5 points in the contest.
