Southwood JV Wins In Double Overtime

The Southwood boys junior varsity basketball team won a heart thumping, double overtime game over Madison-Grant Saturday afternoon 55-47.

Southwood was cruising most the game with a lead of 4 to 10 points before Madison-Grant made a comeback in the last quarter. With the game tied at 36 Levi Sutton nailed a three pointer with 25 seconds left to put the Knights up. Madison-Grant worked the ball, missed a couple shots getting the rebound and hit a three at the buzzer to force overtime.

Both teams would score just two points in the overtime forcing a second extra stanza. Behind Sutton and his hot hand the Knights took control for the 55-47 win.

Leading Southwood was Levi Sutton with 18 points. Jackson Blair had 13, Ross Phillipy 10, Shane Smith 8, Grant Keaffaber 4 and Corey Phillipy 2.
