The Manchester boys basketball team faced a very good Columbia City team Friday night at Manchester and fell to the visitors 54-39.
Columbia City got off to a fast start and lead the Squires 11-2 at the end of one and 27-13 at the half. The squires were out scored in the third quarter 13-7 and trailed 40-20 going in to the final quarter. Manchester finally found some offense and out scored Columbia City 19-14 in the fourth, but it was to little to late as the Squires fell 54-39.
Leading Manchester was Austin Flack with 11 points and 2 rebounds. Derek Self had 10 points, 1 assist and 2 steals. Scott Baker had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Joey Spann had 3 points and 4 rebounds. Logan Brunn had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Caleb Thomas and Aric Howard had 1 point each. Howard had 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
