Northfield 7&8 Girls Play In West Noble Tourney

Northfield’s 7th Grade girls’ basketball team lost 17-34 to Fairfield in the West Noble Tournament. Payton Thomson had 9 points 1 assist and 2 steals. Abby Keaffaber had 3 points and 5 steals. Liz Howenstine had 4 points and Sarah Driscoll had 1 point.

Northfield’s 7th Grade girls’ basketball team won on the road against Central Noble coming in 3rd in the West Noble Tournament 39-21. The Lady Norse are now 10-6 (6-2) heading into the RRC Tournament. Payton Thomson lead the Lady Norse with 16 points and 5 steals. Keaffaber had 11 points, 7 steals, and 1 assist. Abigail Poole had a season high of 6 points and Liz Howenstine added another 4. Cassie Hunt gave the Lady Norse another 2 points to help win the game.

Northfield’s 8th Grade girls’ basketball team was the runner-up at the West Noble Tournament Saturday. In the first game, the Lady Norse beat Fairfield, led by Cait Eltzroth’s 13 points and 6 steals. Jensen Zumbaugh scored 4, while Marlee Stefanatos and Cassidy Miller each had 4 rebounds.

In the championship game, Northfield fell short to West Noble. Cassidy Miller led in scoring and rebounding, with 8 and 5 respectively. Cait Eltzroth, Cherish Leming, and Jensen Zumbaugh each scored 4 for the Lady Norse.

The junior high girls are at home in the first round of the RRC Tourney on Thursday.
