Manchester Holds Off Argos

The Manchester Squires ended their regular season on a positive note, holding off Argos for an exciting 45-44 win. Manchester, in charge the whole game held on in the final seconds for the win.

It was a tale of two halves as the Squires won the first two quarters 16-13 and 8-2 to build a 9 point lead at the half 24-15.

Leading by 9 heading in to the third quarter the Squires were out scored 16-10 in the quarter and lead 34-31 headed in to the final stanza. The fourth quarter was a nail biter, with the lead going back and fourth the last couple minutes and although Manchester was out scored the Squires held on for the 45-44 win.

Leading Manchester was Logan Brunn with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Austin Flack had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assist and 5 steals. Caleb Thomas had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Scott Baker had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block. Derek Self and Trae Bruce had 3 points each. Self had 2 rebounds, 2 assist and 2 steals. Bruce had 2 rebounds. Joey Spann and Aric Howard had 2 points each. Spann had 1 rebound and 1 steal. Howard had 1 assist. Neil Underwood had 1 block and Jim Sainsbury had 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
