Manchester College senior catcher Trey Forbes was selected as a Third Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).


Forbes, a native of Kendallville, Ind., and a graduate of East Noble High School picked up Division III First Team All-Mideast Region honors last week, putting him in a group of eight players around the nation to go up for All-American honors. Forbes was also named First Team All-Conference by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season. He batted a team-best .420 on the year, with 22 doubles, seven homeruns and 44 RBIs.


Nationally in all of Division III baseball, Forbes ranked fourth in the country in runs scored with 64, ranked fifth in the nation in doubles,17th in total bases with 118, 19th in hits with 71, 35th in slugging percentage at .698,and was 51st in the country in batting average.


The Spartans as a team finished the season 28-15 overall, winning the HCAC regular season title.
