Southwood senior Larry Chain finished his high school track career Friday as the Indiana state runner up in the long jump at the state finals at Indiana University.
Chain’s jump of 23′ 4 1/4” was just 3 inches off the winner, John Alsup of Kokomo. Alsup and Chain were a foot longer than the third place finisher. Chain busted his longest jump on his fourth attempt.
Manchester’s Kegan McNeeley had the 11th fastest time in the 100m preliminaries with an 11.24. The top 9 times advanced to the finals.
