Norse Move On To Regional Final

The Northfield baseball team will be playing for the regional championship tonight (Sat) at 7:30 as they defeated Adams Central 6-1 in the semi final game at 1:00.

After giving up a run in the top of the 1st, the Norse tied the game in the bottom on a Peyton Ross single and Andy Roser rbi double.

Starting pitcher Adam House would settle down after a shaky 1st to shut Adams Central down and let his offense and defense take control.

In the 3rd Tanner Chamberlain was hit by a pitch and Peyton Ross reached on an error. Roser and Austin Keen singled home runs and the Norse led 4-1.

House would continue to shut the Flying Jets down and Northfield went to work again in the 5th. The Norse would manufacture two runs in the inning. Peyton Ross singled and Andy Roser reached on a fielders choice. Ryan Keaffaber then doubled to drive in a run and then scored later on an Adams Central error.

That was all House needed as he scattered just three hits in the game and struck out two in the last inning for the win.

The #6 Norse will play #2 Taylor tonight who had a come from behind win over Delphi 5-3.
