The Manchester Squire football team fell on opening night to the Mississinewa Indians 28-18.
This years Manchester Squire football team has a lot of youth and inexperiance and it showed early in the game as Manchester fell behind. At times the defense was playing four freshman. As coach Baker put it, ” we had that deer in the head light look early”. Behind the running of Preston Penrod the Squires stayed in the game and look to improve in their contest against Bluffton next week, who fell to Northfield 12-6.
Penrod had 102 yards on 14 carries in the first half and ended the game with 220 yards, including a 57 yard scamper for a touch down.
