The Manchester boys tennis team fell 4-1 to a very talented Maconaquah team Thursday at Maconaquah. The Braves returned their top three singles players from 2010.
The lone Manchester win came from the #2 doubles team of Dalton Day and Riley Woods. Down 3-4 in the 3rd set, Day became very aggresive at the net and Woods pounded his serves to win three straight games and the match.
At #1 singles Connor McLaughlin lost 2-6, 1-6.
At #2 singles Connor Eichenauer lost 2-6, 0-6
At #3 singles Aaron Johnson lost 2-6, 1-6
At #1 doubles Jared Christiansen and Trent Bechtold lost 2-6, 1-6
At #2 doubles Riley Woods and Dalton Day won 6-4, 4-6, 6-4
Coach Eichenauer ” We competed very well in all positions showing we are a much stronger overall team than last year. Our next several matches will be against teams that we can compete to win.”
