The Manchester boys soccer team started their season Thursday by hosting Peru and came away victoriuos 3-1.
After giving up an early goal four minutes in to the game to trail 1-0 the Squires Martin Andersen scored with ten minutes left in the half to knot it at 1.
In the second half the Manchester defense pitched a shut out, while Keegan McNeeley scored to put the Squires up 2-1. Andersen later scored on a penalty kick to give Manchester the final 3-1 score.
Coach McKee ” Great first game. The midfield of Derek Self, Bryce Pyrah, Tyler Watson, Andrew Hill and Martin Andersen controlled the game.
The JV also picked up the win their first night out, defeating the Tigers 2-0. Ben Godoy-Forrester scored both Squire goals. Rainer Borgmann in the goal got his first shut out.
