Lady Norse Falls In Four To Warsaw

The Northfield Lady Norse volleyball team fell in four games to visiting Warsaw Tuesday, 25-20; 19-25;14-25;21-25.

Haley Walchle led the offensive effort with 9 kills. Bayli Birk added 6 kills, 14 digs and 24 assists on the night. Kendal Reed and Kylie Echard each had 6 kills apiece with Echard adding 4 solo blocks. Reed also chipped in 21 good receptions and 18 digs, while Gentry Kline led the defensive attack with 30 receptions and 21 digs. Emily Shafer also added 7 points and 3 aces with 11 digs. Elaina Terrell led the serving with 11 points and 4 aces. Terrell also contributed two kills and Tori Snyder grabbed 3 kills on the night.

Coach Angie Dale quotes: ” In game one we came out able to terminate and attack the ball and each game after that our kill percentage went down. However they showed heart by fighting back in all games from a deficit and are working their way to where we need to be.”

The junior varsity also fell 14-25;12-25.

Cassidy Miller led the offense with 3 kills, while Hayley Brantley, Holly Dyson, and Shelby Donaldson each added 2 a piece. Donaldson also had 4 assists and 2 aces on the night. Katelyn Gribben had 10 receptions and 4 digs. Arie Kennedy added 7 receptions and Marlee Stefanatos had 5 receptions. Kennedy also added an ace on the night.
