The Manchester Lady Squire volleyball team won their own invitational Saturday by defeating Tri Central 25-19, 21-25, 15-13, Tipp Valley 24-26, 25-10, 15-6 and Lakewood Park 25-17, 25-16.
Against Tri Central in game one the Lady Squires did not break away until a Meika Kennedy ace, followed by a Tiffany Clark kill ignited a run that went from 11-10 to 19-12. Manchester won 25-19. In game two Manchester went up quick 6-1 and Tri Central gradually played their way back to take the lead at 22-21 and score the last three points to defeat Manchester 25-21. In the deciding third game the game was tied six times before Manchester scored the last two points for the 15-13 win.

In the second match aginst Tipp Valley in game one it looked as though the Lady Squires were going to run away with the game. At 2-1 Manchester stretched the lead to 6-1 and eventually 14-4 behind four Tiffany Clark kills. Valley started to claw their way back late in the game with a couple 4 to 6 point runs and took the lead 22-21. The game went to OT with Valley winning 26-24.
The blown game one ignited a fire to Manchester for game two. Again Manchester went up 6-1 with Malyssa Bedke serving, but this time kept the pressure on building the lead to its highest point at the end, winning 25-10.
6 to 1 seemed to be the way to start for the Lady Squires as they did the same in game three vs Valley. Up 14-3, Valley scored three straight points before Manchester closed them out, 15-6.

Manchester would keep their momentum heading for their third match against Lakewood Park, knowing if they won they would win the invitational out right. The lady Squires started hot behind the serving of Natalie Cain, building the lead to 9-1. They would hold their 8 point lead the rest of the game to defeat Lakewood 25-17.
Game two started much the same, this time with Sydney Snep serving. The Lady Squires started the match with an 8-0 run and never looked back, winning 25-16 to seal the Manchester Invite title.
