For the third day in a row rain played a role in the Peru boys tennis sectional. After being rained out two days in a row, the Apaches were able to get their match in for the most part, while the Squires will resume Saturday.
Wabash defeated Peru 3-1 and was tied in the fifth match when the rain hit. Since its the best of five and the Apaches had already won all three singles matches they were declared the winner.
Justin Middleton won at #1 singles 6-0, 6-1. David Driscoll won at #2 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Edward Dillard won at #3 singles 6-1, 6-1. Stephan Eilts and JD Boone were defeated at #1 doubles 3-6, 1-6. The #2 doubles team of Jack Stein and Brayton Nealis won the first game 6-1, lost the second game 4-6 and were tied 3-3 in the third when rain hit.
Manchester arrived a little later since they had further to travel and were taking on Maconaquah when the rain hit. The Squires will resume action at 2:30 Saturday with the Braves and the winner will take on Wabash for the sectional title afterwards.
