The Northfield boys team, Northfield and Manchester girls teams, plus Mathew Fahs-Brown from Manchester competed in the Culver cross country regional Saturday.
The Norse Boy’s team placed 3rd to qualify for the next weeks Semi-State at New Prarie. The top 5 teams move onto the Semi-State. Caleb Augustus paced the Norse with a 2nd place finish with a time of 16:49, Devin Tracy was 7th in 17:27, Trent Meyer was 27th in 18:02, Joe Burcroff was 29th in 18: 06, Michael Shannon was 32nd in 18:12, Austin Eads was 41st in 18:20, and Kevan Barlow was 48th in 18:34.
Freshman Mathew Fahs-Brown of Manchester also qualified for the semi-state as an individual, placing 4th overall in a time of 17:02.
Northfield’s Lady Norse team placed 3rd at the Regional Championships Saturday to qualify for next weeks Semi-State. The Lady Norse were led by Jenna Halderman, who placed 3rd with a time of 19:40. Jenna was followed by Karla Singer who placed 28th in 21:53 , Brittany Sloan was 31st in 21:57 which was a personal record, Countney Frank 34th in 22:02 which was a personal record, Katie Stephan 41st in 22:30 which was a personal record, Caitlin Eltzroth 43rd in 22:31 which was a personal record and Sydney Eltzroth 53rd in 23:01.
The Manchester girls team placed 8th, not advancing as a team, however junior Kelsi Custer finished 9th overall in a time of 20:17 and advances as an individual.
