Comets Out Shine Lady Norse

After being delayed a day because of weather the Northfield girls basketball team traveled to Greentown Wednesday to take on Eastern. The Comets were shining bright as they bested Northfield 72-55.

It was a tail of two halves for the Lady Norse as Eastern out scored the Norse 42-24 in the first half. Northfield regrouped and out scored Eastern in the second half 31-30, but the large first half deficit was to large to over come.

Leading Northfield was Sidney Reed with 20 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assist. Sydney Eltzroth had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals. Katie Stephan had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Alyssa Richter had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. Caitlin Eltzroth had 4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist and 2 blocks. Cherish Leming had 2 points and 1 rebound. Michelle Hendricks had 1 rebound and 1 steal. Arie Kennedy had 2 steals.

The Lady Norse are 2-3 and host Manchester Saturday.

The Norse JV bested Eastern 32-20 to improve to 3-2.

Leading Northfield was Cherish Leming with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Marlee Stefanatos had 6 points, 5 rebounds and 7 steals. Jemsen Zumbaugh had 6 points, 2 assist and 1 steal. Arie Kennedy had 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals. Katelyn Gribben had 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 3 steals. Jenna Halderman had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Kylie Echard had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Hannah Cole had 2 rebounds, 2 assist and 2 steals.

The Lady Norse had 25 steals in the game.
