The Wabash girls basketball team has been struggling on the offensive side of the ball the last few games. Wednesday it looked as though that had come to an end in the first quarter, but showed it’s ugly head the remainder of the game in a 48-29 win over Lewis Cass.
The game started with Wabash hitting on all cylinders. The offense was showing signs of gaining it’s early season rhythm and the defense was smothering. The Lady Apaches put up 23 points in the first quarter, while allowing Lewis Cass just 3.
As it turned out the offense went south, scoring just two more points the rest of the game than they did in the first quarter. The good thing is the defense never stopped working.
Wabash would score just 6 points in the second quarter, while allowing 4 and led 29-7 at the half.
Lewis Cass would out score Wabash 22-19 in the second half, but the first quarter was way to much to overcome as the Lady Apaches struggled to a 48-29 win.
Leading Wabash was Kyleigh Hampton with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. Kelsey Cromer had 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal. Claire Cromer had 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal. Charlie Pardo had 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 assist and 1 steal. Katelyn Vogel had 1 point, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Jaclyn Lewis had 1 assist. Brittany Stone had 1 rebound and 1 steal. Kalie Obenour had 2 rebounds. Marin Hill had 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
