One bad quarter doomed the Lady Squires Tuesday as they traveled to Triton to take on the 1A #7 Lady Trojans, falling 36-33.
The first quarter Tuesday night is one the Lady Squires would like to forget. Triton out scored Manchester 17-6 in the first quarter with the Squires rallying the last three to try and pull it off.
After the bad start the Squires would out score Triton 13-8 in the second quarter to make the half time score 25-19. Kayla Flack had 7 points in the quarter and Meika Kennedy 4.
In a low scoring third quarter, Manchester would win the quarter 6-4 and draw even closer at 29-25 with a quarter to go. Malyssa Bedke, Autumn Brewer and Flack had a bucket each.
Manchester would also out score Triton in the final quarter 8-7, with 3 of the Trojan points coming on a three pointer right before the buzzer. The Squires had fought back to tie the game before the shot. Hannah Schmit and Lindsey Budnik had the Squire buckets in the fourth.
Kayla Flack led with 17 points, 1 assist, 7 rebounds and 1 steal. Meika Kennedy had 4 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Autumn Brewer had 4 points and 4 rebounds. Malyssa Bedke had 3 points and 2 rebounds. Hannah Schmidt had 3 points and 1 rebound. Lindsey Budnik had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Bekah Brunn had 1 assist. Kaylee Watson had 1 rebound. Hannah Little had 1 assist, 5 rebounds and 1 steal.
The JV lost 19-15.
Tabby DeWitt had 9 points, Sydney Snep 4 and Madison Isbell 2.
