Even with the weather being cold outside it was raining three’s inside at North Miami Friday night. Fortunately most of them were from the Knights as they poured in over 50 points in the first half on their way to a 81-65 win over North Miami.
Southwood started out hot, hitting on their first four shots, all from behind the arch to go up 12-2. The Knights defensive pressure bothered the Warriors as they could not get in an offensive set. The Knights capitalized on Warrior turnovers, opening up a 17 point lead with a 12-2 run and led 27-14 after one. Levi Winget led the Knights with 7 points. Levi Sutton and Robbie Cole had 5 points each.
Southwood come out in the second quarter and the defensive pressure turned in to foul trouble. North Miami took advantage of the foul trouble, cutting the lead to 8 points with 4 minutes to go. The Knights kept launching from behind the arch, led by Sexton Boggs who drained a three as time ran out to give the Knights a 14 point lead of 51-37 a the half. Boggs led the quarter with 9 points. Connor Hobbs had 7.
Southwood increased it’s lead to 20 points by continuing to put pressure on the ball and forcing turnovers in the third quarter. Foul trouble was mounting for the Knights and the bench was a major contributor to build on the lead. Hobbs and Jackson Blair led the Knights in the third, leading 66-46 with a quarter to go.
Both teams started out cold in the fourth, plagued by turnovers and the Warriors cut the lead to 13 points with 2:27 left. Down 13 the Warriors started fouling earlier than normal, trying to get back in the game. The Knights converted their free throws down the stretch to secure the 81-65 win.
The Knights were led by Connor Hobbs with 20 points, 4 assist and 4 steals. Jackson Blair had 19 points, 5 assist and 3 steals. Sexton Boggs had 9 points.Levi Sutton had 9 points. Levi Winget had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assist. Robbie Cole had 6 rebounds and 4 assist. Ross Phillipy had 3 rebounds.

The Southwood junior varsity defeated North Miami 49-29. After a tight first half the Knights pulled away, out scoring the Warriors 23-9 in the second half.
Noah kirk had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Nick Krieg had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assist and 2 steals. Zach Hobson had 10 points and 3 assist. Danny Goff had 9 points. Luke Elliott had 4 points. Steve Metz had 3 points. Shane Smith had 2 points. Brett Wyatt had 8 rebounds.
