The Northfield Lady Norse basketball team had a good start and a good finish at Madison Grant Monday, but the two quarters in between caused the Norse to fall 47-36 to the Argylls.
Getting off to a good start the Lady Norse led 12-9 after the first quarter before things went South. The Lady Norse would find the bucket just one time in the second quarter, being out scored 11-2 and trailing 20-14 at the half.
The Norse offense was still a little stagnant in the third quarter, scoring just 8 points while giving up 17 and trailed 37-22 heading for the fourth.
Northfield would out score Madison Grant 14-10 in the final quarter, which would be 11 points short, losing 47-36.
Leading Northfield was Sydney Eltzroth and Sidney Reed with 12 points each. Eltzroth had 3 rebounds, 2 assist and 7 steals. Reed had 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Kylie Echard had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Michelle Hendricks had 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Caitlin Eltzroth had 3 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Alyssa Richter had 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Arie Kennedy had 2 rebounds, 2 assist and 2 steals. Cherish Leming had 2 rebounds. Marlee Stefanatos had 1 assist.
The junior varsity lost to Madison Grant 25-14.
Hannah Cole had 6 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. Jensen Zumbaugh had 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Katelyn Gribben had 2 points, 2 assist and 1 steal. Jenna Halderman had 2 points and 1 rebound. Marlee Stefanatos had 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Michelle Hendricks had 5 rebounds. Cherish Leming had 1 rebound and 1 assist.
