The Southwood boys basketball team was trying to regroup after a three game skid, traveling to Adams Central to face the 2A #14 Jets, who were 13-2 and had won their last five. The Knights stayed with the Jets for three quarters before the size of Adams Central took over, topping the Knights 70-48.
The Knights started hot, scoring the first 6 points of the game on two Levi Winget jumpers and followed by a Ross Phillipy lay up as the Knights go up 6-0 with 4:50 on the clock before the Jets score on a tip in basket. The Jets size took over as they would score the next 6 points to take an 8-6 lead with 3:15 to go. Following two Jets dunks the Knights were down 13-6. Robbie Cole scores the final Knight basket of the period Southwood is down 16-8 at the end of one.

Both teams would start slow in the second, hitting just one basket each in the first 4 minutes of the period. Both teams picked up the pace in scoring as Southwood closed the gap at the half, trailing 28- 21.

The Knights had a good start in the third as Ross Phillipy scores on the opening possession, followed by a Winget lay up as the two teams exchange baskets. The size of the Jets and long range shooting took over as they opened up a 14 point lead with 1:10 left in the period. The Knights defense picked up the pressure and closed the gap to 10 at the end of three, trailing 47-37 with a quarter to go.

The Knights kept hanging around, but could not match the size of the Jets in the end. Trailing by 20 points with 4 minutes left the Knights tried to pressure the Jets to get back in the game but too much size and athletic ability did the Knights in.
Southwood was led in scoring by Conner Hobbs with 16, Levi Winget had 12. Jackson Blair 6 and Ross Phillipy 6.
The junior varsity come back to defeat Adams Central 35-33 after trailing 20-8 at the half.
Nick Krieg led with 13 points and 2 steals. Danny Goff had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Zach Hobson had 6 points, 4 assist and 2 steals. Noah Kirk, Steve Metz, Brett Wyatt and Shane Smith had 2 points each. Smith had 5 rebounds. Wyatt had 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Noah Kirk had 2 steals.
