The Southwood and Manchester girls 7th and 8th grade basketball teams split Monday. Southwood won the 7th 28-16 and Manchester won the 8th 23-22.
The Southwood 7th grade went 17-0 on the regular season.
In the 7th grade game for Southwood Brooke Elliott led with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals. Taylor Heath had 6 points and 6 rebounds. Kassidy Atwood had 6 points and 11 rebounds. MaKenna Dawes had 4 rebounds and 5 steals.
For Manchester Rae Bedke had 4 points, Brooklyn Howard1, Ellie Milam 2, Karly Eichenauer,1 Cerra Carter 5, Bailey Sewell 1 and Rachel Cave 2.
In the 8th grade game, with less than 5 seconds left in overtime, Manchester’s Katelyn Andritsch stole the ball and dribbled the length of the floor to make the game winning shot at the buzzer.
Leading Manchester was Tiffany Johnson with 10 points, 18 rebounds and 3 steals. Katelyn Andritsch had 6 points and 5 steals. Ali Casper had 4 points. Kendra Binkley had 3 points and 9 rebounds. Alyssa Spann had 7 rebounds.
Leading Southwood was Kelly Schmidt with 9 points. Danielle Pegg had 6, Emilie Harnish 5 and Kiley Leach 2.
