Manchester Hall Of Fame Night

Manchester High School will be holding their inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame class for 2012 who will be inducted on Friday, February 24th at halftime of the boys basketball game vs. Garrett.

Listed below are the Hall of Fame inductees

Lisa (Meyer) Ulrey:

*1990 graduate of Manchester High School

*Four-year member of the girls’ swimming, track, and basketball teams

*Outstanding Female Athlete Award 1989-1990

*Four-year collegiate swimmer at Valparaiso University

*10 Varsity Letters


*Four time MVP

*Four-year captain

*Record holder in 8 different swimming events

*1986 IHSAA State swimming finalist in two events

*Rotary Mental Attitude Award winner


*Two-year captain

*IHSAA Regional qualifier in 800 meters


Robin Gratz:

*1966 graduate of Manchester High School

*Four-year member of the boys’ football and track teams

*2nd place finisher in National Junior Champ meet in Triple Jump 1965

*Four-year collegiate participant in football and track at Manchester College


*School record holder in high hurdles, low hurdles, and long jump

*Northern Lakes Conference champ in high and low hurdles ’65 and ‘66

*Sectional champion in high hurdles, low hurdles, and long jump ‘66

*Sectional champion in two events in ‘65

*1965 State finalist in low hurdles and high hurdles

*1966 State finalist in low hurdles and long jump


*First Team Northern Lakes Conference 1965


Dick Miller:

*Mathematics teacher at MCS for 38 years

*Head cross-country coach for 32 years

*Served as head or assistant track coach for 33 years

*Served as Athletic Director at MHS

*18 consecutive semi-state appearances in cross-country

*15 consecutive TRC track championships

*Inducted into the Indiana State Cross Country and Track Hall of Fame

*Initiated computer scoring for cross-country meets

*Started the largest cross-country invitational during his time

*Manchester College Claude Wolfe Coach of the Year recipient


Phil Enyeart:

*1944 graduate of Chester High School

*Physical Education Teacher for 28 years at MCS

*First coach at Manchester High School in football, wrestling, and golf

*Also coached track and basketball while at MHS

*Has served as a member of the Manchester Community School Board

*Phil has been instrumental in the development of many facets of the Manchester High School athletics program over the years and has dedicated his time and energy to improving all aspects of the student-athlete experience.


2002 Manchester High School Baseball Team:

*IHSAA 2A State Baseball Champions

*IHSAA 2A Semi-State Champions

*IHSAA 2A Regional Champions

*IHSAA 2A Sectional Champions

*First team to win a state championship title in Manchester High School history

  1. Congrats to the entire 2012 HALL OF FAME CLASS at MANCHESTER HS. Also congrats to the Manchester athletic department for starting this long over due honor.
