The Manchester baseball team traveled to Taylor Tuesday looking for their first win of the season and got it behind a pitching masterpiece from Connor Mclaughlin, defeating the host 3-1.
The Squires gave up a run in the first inning and trailed 1-0 heading in to the fifth. Harlan got things started for the Squires, drawing a walk and was followed with a single by Lewis. Goad doubled to drive in a run and tie the score at 1. Sorg then singled in the go ahead run and was followed by Thomas driving in the third run of the inning.
That was all McLaughlin would need as he shut the door on Taylor and the Squires held on for the 3-1 win.
