The Manchester baseball team fell short to Columbia City Monday, falling to the Eagles 13-7.
The Squires trailed 2-1 heading to the 4th when the offense got hot. The Squires would collect six hits and score five runs in the top of the inning to take a 6-2 lead. The Columbia City bats would also get hot, scoring 5 runs in the fifth and 5 in the sixth to lead 13-7, which would be the final score.
The Squires still hit the ball, but could not capitalize with runs, stranding 10 base runners for the game.
Grant Schuler had 3 hits and 3 rbi’s. Jurgin Cripe had 3 hits. Cody Harlan and Logan Brunn had 2 hits. Jim Sainsbury had 1 hit and 1 rbi. Connor McLaughlin had 1 hit. Payton Sorg and Caleb Thomas had 1 rbi each.
The junior varsity defeated Wabash 7-4.
