The Manchester baseball team fell victim to a nine run fifth inning by Heritage and fell 12-3 Friday.
Manchester would strike first in the top of the first inning. Payton Sorg singled and was moved over by Logan Brunn. Connor McLaughlin then drove Sorg home for the first run of the game.
Heritage would tie the game in the bottom of the inning, but the Squires came right back in the second to score two. Heritage would plate a run in the second and the fourth and the score was all knotted up at three after four innings.
The fifth inning is when the wheels fell off for the Squires. After being held in the top of the inning, Heritage would score nine runs, six being unearned to take a 12-3 lead which would end up being the final score.
Payton Sorg had 2 hits and 1 rbi. Connor Mclaughlin had 2 doubles and 1 rbi. Cody Harlan had a double.
The Squires play a double header Saturday at Ft Wayne North
